SomRIL | Learning Event for Financial Innovation and Resource Mobilization Project
Somali Response Innovation in collaboration with ADRA, successfully hosted the Financial Innovation and Resource Mobilization project’s (FIRM) Learning Event, funded by Innovation Norway, under the theme “From Pilot to Practice: Innovative Financing—Promoting Locally Led, Impact-Driven Co-Creation on Evidence and Transitioning Innovations to Market-Wide Application.”
The event served as a strategic platform for reflection, evidence sharing, and forward-looking co-creation on how innovative finance pilots can transition into sustainable, market-wide solutions that strengthen resilience. Bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders including government representatives from the Somaliland Ministry of Trade and Tourism and Ministry of Investment, humanitarian & development partners such as World Vision, Oxfam, CARE, World Food Programme, Welthungerhilfe, and Save the Children, alongside private sector actors, innovators, financial institutions, and local organizations.
The learning event fostered meaningful dialogue on scale-up pathways, de-risking mechanisms, blended finance, and policy enablers for locally led solutions. During the event, SomRIL presented evidence and insights from its innovative finance pilots, demonstrating how locally designed mechanisms can unlock investment, strengthen financial inclusion, and transition promising solutions from pilot stage to broader market application. A strong step forward in turning locally led financial innovation into scalable systems change.
