RILx is Response Innovation Lab’s annual flagship event, bringing together our team members from across the globe alongside peers from the wider humanitarian ecosystem. What began as a small gathering of our own teams and close regional partners in Nairobi back in 2023 has since evolved into one of the few global events dedicated to exploring local humanitarian innovation and ecosystem-building—through guided, open conversations with frontline practitioners and global thought leaders for exchange and cross-learning.

RILx24
Kathmandu, Nepal
September 17-19, 2024RILx24 brought together over 200 participants from 60 agencies across 25 countries to explore ecosystem building and business modelling. RILx24 marked the first time we welcomed new peers from the region into deeper conversation. It shaped our Global Strategy by surfacing critical insights that continue to guide us; it also gave birth to a commitment to "failing better"—moving beyond simply identifying lessons to truly learning from them. RILx25
Istanbul, Türkiye
October 15-17, 2025RILx25 brought together 130 participants from 35 countries to explore humanitarian systems transformation through localisation and advancing climate adaptation in fragile settings. It marked the first time we brought in “unconventional voices” from impact investing and philanthropy, introduced fishbowl discussions and hands-on workshops, created space for younger professionals to share the stage alongside senior executives, and featured an Innovations Gallery and exhibition — an experimental format that set the tone for future editions of RILx.
