Innovative Solutions for Humanitarian Impact

The Syria Response Innovation Lab (SyRIL) invites Syrian innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, students, and professionals to submit their creative solutions to humanitarian challenges.

 This initiative seeks to bridge entrepreneurial thinking with humanitarian needs—amplifying innovative ideas made by Syrians, for Syrians, and connecting them with global decision-makers, donors, and innovation agencies.

Focus areas

We are seeking practical and scalable solutions in three key sectors:

Climate Change Adaptation

·        Renewable and affordable energy solutions

·        Waste management and recycling initiatives

·        Innovations that build community resilience to environmental challenges

 

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

·        Solutions that increase access to clean water

·        Affordable and safe sanitation facilities

·        Hygiene innovations that improve community health

 Education

·        Digital learning tools for children and youth

·        Skills development and vocational training

·        Inclusive solutions that expand access to education in crisis settings

·        Syrian entrepreneurs, start-ups, and SMEs

·        Youth innovators and students with creative solutions

·        Syrian professionals and diaspora innovators with relevant expertise

·        Private sector actors seeking to address humanitarian challenges

Who we are looking for

Eligibility

·        Applicants must be Syrian innovators (inside Syria or from the diaspora).

·        Both individuals and teams are welcome to apply.

·        Projects should be linked to at least one of the three focus areas.

·        Ideas may be at the concept, prototype, pilot, or implementation stage.

What Selected Innovators Will Gain

  • Mentorship: Access to tailored guidance from experienced Innovation Advisors

  • Networking: Invitation to present at a Global Webinar with UN agencies, global innovation agencies, donors, and humanitarian partners

All submissions remain the intellectual property of the applicant. By applying, you give RIL permission to review your idea and, if selected, feature it with full attribution. All personal information will be handled in line with data protection and privacy standards
