SyRIL
Syria Response Innovation Lab
Overview
After over 13 years of conflict, Syria faces one of the world’s most complex and enduring humanitarian crises. Today, more than 16.7 million people across the country require assistance, amid collapsing infrastructure, economic hardship, displacement, and limited access to basic services
In this challenging context, traditional humanitarian approaches alone are no longer sufficient. There is a growing need for locally driven, adaptive, and scalable solutions that can respond to Syria’s evolving needs.
The Syria Response Innovation Lab (SyRIL) is a collaborative platform that brings together humanitarian actors, civil society, academia, and the private sector to co-design and test innovative responses to humanitarian challenges. SyRIL creates space for practical experimentation, knowledge-sharing, and community-led problem solving, with a focus on relevance, impact, and inclusivity.
By enabling new partnerships and elevating local ideas, SyRIL supports a more agile, effective, and sustainable response for crisis-affected Syrians across the country.

Innovation Ecosystem Map
The objective of this Eco-system map is to assist partners and stakeholders working in and for Syria in navigating the humanitarian innovation ecosystem and finding potential collaborators. While it focuses specifically on humanitarian and social-impact innovation stakeholders and supporters, it does not encompass the entire innovation ecosystem in the region. Most of the organizations included have a physical presence in Northwest Syria, though some are based externally but maintain established connections within this ecosystem. All information provided is sourced from public domains, primarily the organizations; own websites or Facebook pages. Tags were applied according to the global RIL methodology and publicly available information from the organizations.
